Heart Assessment

 A heart assessment is conducted using an ECG (Electrocardiogram) machine. Using electrodes the ECG machines helps a physical diagnose a wide range of heart conditions such as;

  • Myocardial infarction (heart attack), past or present
  • Enlargement of the heart
  • Congenital defects
  • Heart valve disease
  • Arhythmias (abnormal heart rhythms)
  • Coronary artery disease
  • Inflammation of the heart (myocarditis)
  • Changes in the amount of electrolytes (chemicals in the blood) 

At CNM, other tests including Blood Pressure monitoring, Exercise Stress Test, Exercise Myocardial perfusion scan, Persantin Stress Myocardial Perfusion scan, Gated Heart Blood Pool scan, Doppler study of legs to assess circulatory disorders are available to determine your Cardiac health. This helps evaluate the potential risk of heart attack.
