Pain Relief Injections

Ultrasound-guided injection therapy involves using a small needle to inject medication into  joints, tendons, ligaments or other soft tissues. This therapy is generally used when other forms of treatment fail to provide relief. Dr. Himanshu Kaushik at CNM, boasts a very high success rate in treating a variety of pain over the past 10 years.

Types of injection therapy include:

  • Facet joint injections - Anesthetics and corticosteroids are injected into the facet joints and adjacent nerves, located between vertebrae.
  • Nerve root blocks - Anesthetics or corticosteroids are injected in the region surrounding the nerve which is inflammed or compressed.
  • Viscosupplementation - A lubricant such as hyaluronate is injected into a joint afflicted by osteoarthritis.
  • Prolotherapy - A simple sugar solution is injected into the area of abnormality including tear. This triggers inflammation, causing tissue regeneration and growth; strengthening the weakened area.
