Ultrasound is a safe imaging tool with no reported adverse effects on patients and foetuses; based on more than 50 years of clinical and ultrasound research.
In very simple terms, ultrasound is the application of high frequency sound waves to visualise body parts including abdominal organs, pelvic organs, muscles, tendons, joints, children’s brains, developing foetuses, breast, thyroid, prostate, testes, other small body parts and blood vessels. Ultrasound is widely used during pregnancy and is widely recognized and accepted.
